Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate have been arrested in Miami, Florida, after British authorities sought their extradition to face fresh criminal charges including rape, sex trafficking and assault.

The arrests were confirmed on Saturday by the United States Marshals Service, marking a significant development in the long-running legal challenges facing the controversial social media personalities.

According to the US Marshals Service, both Andrew Tate, 39, and his younger brother Tristan were taken into custody. However, officials declined to disclose the specific charges linked to the arrest warrant, stating that the warrant remains sealed.

Footage shared by entertainment news outlet TMZ showed law enforcement officers placing the brothers in handcuffs before escorting them into waiting vehicles. In the video, Tristan Tate remained silent when questioned by onlookers.

The UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) later confirmed that the arrests were connected to Britain’s efforts to extradite the brothers to face additional criminal charges.

British prosecutors revealed that the Tate brothers are collectively facing 59 charges, with 42 counts against Andrew Tate and 17 against Tristan Tate.

“We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for further offences including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and offences relating to indecent images of a child,” said Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the CPS Special Crime Division.

“The CPS has requested the extradition of the Tates from the US,” he added.

According to UK authorities, the latest charges emerged after investigators received new evidence from Bedfordshire Police, increasing the number of alleged victims in the case to seven.

Earlier this year, police in Hertfordshire reopened investigations into rape and sexual assault allegations reportedly made against Andrew Tate between 2014 and 2015. The brothers are also facing separate allegations of rape and human trafficking being investigated by Bedfordshire Police, which covers their hometown of Luton.

In addition to the sexual offence allegations, the Tate brothers are reportedly under investigation in the United Kingdom over claims of tax evasion and money laundering.

Their attorney, Joseph McBride, has strongly denied all accusations, maintaining that both men are innocent.

“We are confident that once a competent judge sees the facts, and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will walk free,” McBride said.

The brothers, who hold dual British and American citizenship, have been vocal supporters of US President Donald Trump and remain influential figures online.

In March 2025, authorities in Florida launched a separate criminal investigation into the Tate brothers, although officials have not publicly disclosed the current status of that probe.

Andrew Tate has built a massive online following through content centered on traditional masculinity, self-improvement and controversial views on gender issues. He currently commands millions of followers across social media platforms.

Meanwhile, in Romania, where the brothers have been based in recent years, they continue to face separate allegations involving human trafficking, trafficking of minors, sexual offences involving a minor and money laundering.

The arrests in Miami now place renewed international attention on the legal cases surrounding the Tate brothers as British authorities move to secure their extradition and prosecution.
