Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programs Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has dismissed Nyoro’s Party saying the party has limited capacity to determine the political direction of the Mt Kenya region ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during Huduma Mashinani Day at Kaptebeng’wet in Konoin Constituency, Bomet County, Ruku said the formation of individual political parties would not automatically determine the region’s political choices or voting patterns.
The CS pointed to the 2022 General Election, when Kenya had numerous political parties, arguing that their existence did not prevent President Ruto from winning the presidency.
Ruku expressed confidence that the political factors that favored Ruto in 2022 would continue to work in his favor in the 2027 election.
He also urged young people, particularly in Bomet County, to register as voters in large numbers and participate actively in the electoral process.
The CS said voter registration and turnout would be critical in determining Kenya’s leadership and development priorities, urging young people not to be distracted by political rhetoric.

He also criticized the disruption of political meetings in various parts of the country, saying the use of goons to intimidate political opponents undermined democratic participation.
He called on security agencies to investigate allegations that some politicians were financing individuals involved in disrupting political gatherings and take action against those found responsible.
The CS said political differences should be addressed through democratic processes rather than intimidation and violence.
Ruku also criticized former President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying he should accept that Ruto became President following the 2022 General Election and give his successor an opportunity to govern.
He said Ruto had supported Kenyatta’s administration during his tenure and should similarly be allowed to serve without unnecessary political interference.
Ruku expressed confidence that Ruto and his deputy, Prof Kithure Kindiki, would defend the Kenya Kwanza administration and secure another term in the 2027 presidential election.
He said the administration would continue focusing on development and improving the welfare of Kenyans.
Dismisses Gachagua’s Mt Kenya Politics
The CS also dismissed former DP Rigathi Gachagua’s criticism of other leaders over Mt Kenya politics.
Ruku urged political leaders to focus on development and the interests of their constituents rather than engaging in divisive political contest ahead of the 2027 elections.
He maintained that the political future of Mt Kenya would ultimately be determined by voters and their priorities, rather than the number of political parties established in the region.
