Athletics Kenya (AK) has suspended all activities by German-based scholarship agency Scholarbook international, citing breaches of anti-doping rules and event regulations.
The federation warned athletes and support personnel against participating in the “Golden Ticket Training” time trial scheduled for March 12, 2026, at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru.
AK said that participation in unsanctioned events could lead to regulatory and eligibility risks under national and international athletics rules.
“Scholarbook international has proceeded to organize and promote this event despite AK directives,” the federation said, urging athletes to verify event approval before participating.
The move comes amid increasing oversight of recruitment and competition events, ensuring Kenyan athletes maintain compliance while pursuing opportunities abroad.
Kenyan runners have historically excelled in the U.S Collegiate system, with athletes like Doris Lemngole, Eliud Kipsang, and Ernest Cheruiyot securing scholarships through international programs.
The tradition of Kenyan success in U.S colleges dates back to pioneers Henry Rono and Samson Kimobwa in the 1970s.
