Turkana Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai has cautioned politicians against escalating political tensions in the county through hate speech, intimidation and attacks targeting individuals and their families because of their political affiliations.
The Governor said political competition should be based on ideas, policies and competing development agendas rather than personal vendettas intended to silence people holding different political opinions.
He also expressed concern over individuals he said had recently faced political attacks for associating with or supporting his political coalition, warning that intimidation would not be tolerated.
