Kenyan R&B and soul singer Bridget Blue has reached a new milestone in her music career after her album Rhythm and Blue (RNB) entered consideration for the 69th Grammy Awards.
The 12-track project is being considered in the Best Progressive R&B Album category, six months after its release, according to the singer.
In a video message to her fans on Friday, October 16, 2026, Bridget celebrated the development while clarifying that the album had not yet secured an official Grammy nomination.

“RNB has been considered for the Grammys in the Best Progressive R&B Album category. Now, it doesn’t mean we’ve been nominated yet, but this is such a huge and beautiful special step, and I want you guys to be a part of it,” she said.
The consideration gives the project an opportunity to reach a wider international audience and brings further attention to Kenya’s R&B and Afro-soul music scene.
Released on March 31, 2026, Rhythm and Blue blends R&B and Afro-soul across 12 tracks, featuring collaborations with Kenyan musicians Bien and Nikita Kering’.
Bien features on I Choose You, while Nikita Kering’ joins Bridget on Mimi Na Wewe.
Other tracks on the album include Ngozi Kama Jua, Ni Wewe, Mbuzi, Sober, 9 to 5, Waters of My Enemies, Always Mine, Set Me Free, Kuna Yule and Umbrella.
Reflecting on the album’s reception, Bridget said the response had exceeded her expectations, with listeners continuing to embrace the project months after its release.
“We released 12 tracks into the world and the reception was absolutely amazing,” she said.
The Grammy consideration adds another milestone to Bridget’s musical journey as she seeks to expand her international reach.
According to her official website, she is also a four-time All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) nominee.
Her nominations span Best Songwriter of the Year, Best Female Artist in Africa Inspirational Music, Best Artist, Duo or Group in African R&B and Soul, and Best Female Artist in Eastern Africa.
The latest development could bring further attention to her music and introduce her work to more listeners beyond Kenya.
However, consideration for a Grammy is not the same as an official nomination. The consideration stage does not guarantee that an album will appear on the final nominees list.
Bridget is encouraging her supporters to help the album reach a wider audience by streaming the music, sharing it with friends and introducing it to new listeners.
She said even small acts of support could make a difference in expanding the project's reach.
“You never know how far your like or your share can take us,” she told her supporters.
With Rhythm and Blue under consideration for the 2027 Grammy Awards, Bridget Blue is celebrating the milestone while urging fans to remain part of her musical journey.
The album’s ultimate Grammy outcome remains uncertain, but the consideration marks a new chapter in the singer’s pursuit of wider international recognition.
