A businessman has been charged at the Milimani Law Courts with allegedly stealing 7,700 cartons of Gil Oil bar soap valued at KSh10.2 million.
Ahmed Dawe Dime appeared before Milimani Senior Resident Magistrate Paul Mutai, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
According to the charge sheet, Dime allegedly committed the offence between December 24, 2025, and May 16, 2026, at Moyale Wholesellers Limited stores along North Airport Road in Embakasi, Nairobi County.
The prosecution alleges that Dime acted jointly with other individuals who have not been brought before the court and stole the soap, which is said to have been the property of Hussein Hirbo Galcha.
The prosecution has also filed an alternative charge of handling stolen goods.
Under the alternative charge, Dime is accused of dishonestly receiving and retaining 424 cartons of Gil Oil bar soap at Moyale Trading Centre in Moyale County on May 18, 2026.
The prosecution alleges that he knew or had reason to believe that the goods were stolen.
Dime denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of KSh400,000 as the case proceeds through the courts.
