The County Government of Turkana has distributed ceremonial uniforms to 153 village administrators in a move aimed at strengthening professionalism, enhancing corporate branding, and improving service delivery at the grassroots level.

The administrators are expected to wear the uniforms during designated official functions and maintain them in accodance with government regulations and policies.

Uniforms to Enhance Professionalism and Visibility

Speaking during the distribution exercise, County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Administration Patrick Losike Lokaimoe said the initiative forms part of the county government’s broader strategy to improve service delivery and promote a professional public service culture.

“You may serve under different government structures alongside your colleagues from the national government, but you all deliver services to the same community. The new ceremonial uniforms will help make you stand out and gain respect worthy of the important role you play in the county’s structure of administration,” CECM Lokaimoe said.

He emphasized that village administrators remain a critical link between the government and local communities and should continue serving residents with dedication and integrity.

Serve with Integrity

Lokaimoe called on the administrators to discharge their duties diligently, uphold professionalism, and strengthen collaboration with other stakeholders operating within their respective areas.

He noted that the ceremonial attire is intended for use during official events such as national celebrations, public holidays, county functions, and other special government occasions.

Education Key to Turkana’s Future

He urged adminstrators to work closely with parents, community leaders, and education stakeholders to encourage school enrolment and retention.

County Plegdes Support for Village Administrators

County Chief Officer for Administration and Disaster Management Marian Nakaale Lotieng praised village administrators for their dedication and contribution to grassroots governance.

Lotieng encouraged the administrators to continue representing the County Government professionally and assured them that the department would continue exploring opportunities for capacity building, training, and staff welfare initiatives subject to available resources.

She reiterated the county government’s commitment to supporting frontline administrative officers who play a key role in implementing government programs and services at village level.

Strengthening Grassroots Governance

The distribution of ceremonial uniforms is part of ongoing efforts by the Turkana County Government to strengthen grassroots administration, improve public service delivery, and enhance the visibility of village administrators as the first point of contact between government and citizens.
