Ruto Unveils Development Plans During Johana Ng’eno Burial

President William Ruto has announced a series of directives aimed at honoring the late MP Johana Ng’eno while supporting affected families and boosting development in the constituency.

Speaking at the burial of late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno and four others, President Ruto pledged 750 million for the establishment of a Maasai Mara Constituency College branch in Emurua Dikirr, a project set to provide educational opportunities in the region and serve as a lasting tribute to the late MP’s contributions.

Support for Families

The President also outlined multiple measures to support families affected by the recent loss and ongoing challenges:

  • The TSC Employment letter initially intended for Carlos Keter will now be redirected to his siter.
  • President promised to address all concerns raised by the family of Nick Kosgey.
  • For Amos’ family, the government will cover school fees for students at Kisii University, with Sonko Belgut sponsoring one student and Brighton sponsoring another.
  • The wife of Wycliff Rono, a SportPesa employee, will be offered employment at the Ministry of Agriculture.
  • Each affected family will also receive Ksh. 2 million in direct support.

Honoring the Late MP

President Ruto further announced initiatives to preserve the legacy of MP Johana Ng’eno:

  • Ksh 20 million annually will be set aside to support artists in honor of the late MP
  • The Ministry of Housing will rename Shauri Moyo Estate in memory of Johana Ng’eno.
  • Ksh 5 million has been allocated for the completion of a local church associated with the MP.

Infrastructure and Development Projects

In addition to social support initiatives, the President highlighted major infrastructure and development projects for the region:

  • Completion of all 12 markets in Narok County.
  • Acquisition of 1,500 acres of land in Angata Barikoi for resettlement of squatters.
  • Construction of a new Class B road from Chebole to Dikirr, though existing roads will not be recarpeted.

A Lasting Legacy

The directives announced by President Ruto are expected to strengthen education, infrastructure, and social support in Emurua Dikirr while honoring the life and work of the late Johana Ng’eno.

Leaders and community members welcomed the initiates, noting that they would have a lasting impact on the constituency.
