The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced the colours of ballot papers and corresponding ballot box lids that will be used for the six elective positions in the 2027 General Election.
In a post shared on its social media platforms, the electoral commission said each ballot paper will have a corresponding ballot box lid of the same colour.
According to the IEBC, the colour-coding system is designed to make it easier for voters and election officials to identify the ballot papers and boxes for each of the six elective positions.
The Presidential ballot paper and ballot box lid will be white, while the colour designated for Members of the National Assembly will be green.
The ballot papers and boxes for Members of County Assembly (MCAs) will be beige, while those for Senators will be yellow.
For gubernatorial election, the designated colour will be light blue, while the ballot papers and boxes for Women Representatives will be purple.
The six colours will therefore correspond to the six elective positions that Kenyans will vote for during the 2027 General Election.
The IEBC also urged Kenyans who have not yet registered as voters to do so at constituency offices and Huduma Centres across the county.
The 2027 General Election will involve voting for the President, Governor, Senator, Member of the National Asssembly, Woman Respresentative and Member of the County Assembly, with each position assigned a distinct ballot paper and corresponding ballot box lid colour.
