The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Nairobi Branch has announced the death of advocate Rachel Wangui Ndirangu following an accident.

Ndirangu’s death has been described as a sudden and painful loss to the legal fraternity. She was a practising advocate at Wanjiru Kairu & Co. Advocates at the time of her death.

She is survived by her sister, Loise Wanjiru Ndirangu, who is also a member of the bar.

In a statement, LSK Nairobi Branch Chairperson Eric Kivuya conveyed condolences to Ndirangu’s family, friends, colleagues and clients, saying her death had left a significant void among those who knew and worked with her.

“Her sudden passing is a great loss to her family, friends, colleagues, clients, and the wider legal fraternity,” Kivuya said in the statement.

The branch also extended its condolences to the partners and staff of Wanjiru Kairu & Co. Advocates, as well as affiliated firms, as they come to terms with the loss.

Kivuya further urged lawyers and clients with ongoing matters at the firm to exercise patience and understanding as the family and colleagues make arrangements following the death.

“We kindly appeal to colleagues and all those with pending matters before the firm to exercise patience, understanding, and forbearance as the family and the firm take time to mourn and make the necessary funeral arrangements,” he said.

At the time of the LSK Nairobi Branch announcement, details of Ndirangu’s funeral arrangements had not been released.

The branch did not disclose further details about the accident that led to the young advocate’s death.
