Kenya will host the Ambassadors and High Commissioners Conference from March 27 to March 30, 2026 in Nairobi as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s diplomatic engagement and advance its national interests in a rapidly evolving global environment.
The high-level forum will bring together Kenyan ambassadors and high commissioners stationed across the world to review the country’s foreign policy priorities and explore strategies to strengthen international partnerships.
Speaking after receiving a briefing on the country’s preparedness, Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, said the government will use the conference to outline key focus areas shaping the nation’s foreign policy.
Focus on Foreign Policy in a Changing World
Mudavadi said the conference will focus on foreign policy in a changing world order, alignment of national interests, and reinvigorating economic diplomacy.
“The government will use this platform to reflect on Kenya’s diplomatic priorities and align our missions abroad with the country’s development goals,” he said.
The conference will be held under the theme “Advancing Kenya’s Interests in a Rapidly Evolving Geopolitical Landscape.”
According to Mudavadi, the discussions will address emerging global challenges and opportunities that are shaping diplomacy and international relations.
Key Topics on the Agenda
The conference will examine several strategic areas including:
- Climate diplomacy
- Science and technology cooperation
- The blue economy
- Global health diplomacy
- Multilateral engagement
- Peace and regional stability
Mudavadi emphasized that Kenya is strengthening its role as a regional and global diplomatic player.
“Kenya continues to position itself as a convening hub for high-level diplomatic dialogue, with strong emphasis on economic diplomacy, climate action and sustainable ocean governance,” he said.
Strengthening Kenya’s Diplomatic Network
The meeting is expected to provide an opportunity for diplomats to review Kenya’s engagement with international partners while exploring new opportunities for trade, investment and development cooperation.
Mudavadi was accompanied during the briefing by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, including Korir Sing’oei, the Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Josphat Maikara, Director-General for Political and Diplomatic Affairs.
The conference is expected to strengthen Kenya’s diplomatic strategy and ensure the country’s missions abroad actively promote national interests, economic partnerships and regional stability.
